and we're back....

Back after a short break to Dubai, a little sun, lots of food and given the price of beer not so much to drink.
If you get chance to go I recommend it as its fantastic and also mind blowing at the same time, the growth of building, foodie joints and malls has been massive in the last 4 years since I visited. Enough about that though I've been threatening to add to my favourite brunch category for some time and finally here is my thoughts on Ceres.
Ceres is still pretty new to the brunch scene but its hitting big really as they have some clever dishes that you don't see elsewhere. Its on the early part of Stokes Croft and has a somewhat eclectic interior with rough tables, milk crate chairs and undecorated walls. Thankfully, you are here for the food and not the decor and its here where it makes having a pattern imprinted on your behind that says Express Dairies all worth while.
I've been to Ceres a few times now and have to admit I'm a massive fan of the sweet corn fritters and smashed avocado, the coffee is good (square mile) and its great for people watching. They have things involving bacon and too die for pancakes that are almost sconey / drop cake in dexter but work so well with the banana caramel and cream.
They have just launched as an evening menu too (need to increase sales) with some really sharp dishes that represent some great cooking so go there before the VAT man snaps them up!
