The Mall Pub Clifton Launch Event
Sunday 30th April 2017
A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to be invited to the relaunch event for the Mall Pub Clifton Village.
I have to admit to not being so much a pub person with images of my youth dominated by regulars propping up the bar and I mean literally 'propping up', smoke and packets of KP peanuts shared by all and sundry in those little pots on the bar.
Thankfully The Mall couldn't be further from that image. The newly refurbished interior was smart and comfortable and thankfully not over designed with that casual attempt to ensure every chair and table was mismatched not present here.
They serve a wide range of beer and ciders (what else would you expect) but I was here for the Gin. The stylish garden area had a bespoke Bulldog Gin bar on the day and I could easily see myself enjoying a few drinks here on a Summers evening. Its amazing the range of aromatics that work with gin and the bar tender worked really hard to understand what would be perfect for me.
Gin aside they have also revamped their menu and the samples I tried, all be it in bite size form, suggested it would be worth furthering exploration. I'd recommend the burgers as they were good and flavourful although my favourite was the fish. Its classic British pub food really with a few twists including sharing boards and a sandwich range that has bags of potential.
If you are ever in Clifton and want somewhere thats serves good food and drinks in a comfortable environment then the Mall is the place to go.
