Q. Do I have to purchase tickets in advance? Can I pay cash?

Tickets must be purchased in advance as we need to prepare our suppliers so they can offer great tastings when we arrive. To maximize your chances of getting the day, time, and number of tickets you prefer, please book well in advance. Eat.Walk.Talk Bristol Food Tour tickets can be purchased on our website. We accept Visa and Mastercard. Cash is not accepted.

Q. If a food tour is sold out, can I get on a waiting list?

A waiting list function isn't currently available but should you want to be considered if a cancellation occurs please email us on info@eatwalktalkbristol.com

Q. How much food is served on the food tour?

Eat.Walk.Talk Bristol Food Tour serves enough food that for most participants, a meal afterwards is not always necessary but I'm aware appetites vary . Think of it as a progressive meal; food and drink tastings paired with architectural, cultural, and historical anecdotes, such that most participants end up comfortably full at the end of the tour. Please note, our Eat.Walk.Talk Bristol Food Tour are not intended to replace breakfast and lunch combined, so please consider eating later in the day.

Q. How much walking is involved? Is it a fast-paced tour?

The Eat.Walk.Talk Bristol Food Tour runs for approx 3.5 hours. Participants can expect to be standing or walking for the majority of the time. We walk at a moderate pace, total distance is about 4km along normal sidewalks, the route is mostly flat but there are some small inclines.

Q. Do your tours have anything to offer a native?

I have lived here for 11 years and am always discovering new places to visit, overlooked history and food gems. You never know what you will find?

Q. Does the Tour Guide accept gratuities?

In the UK gratuities are less a part of our way of life than in many countries and we would be happy to receive a thank you or maybe tell those TripAdvisor people you had a 5* experience :-)

Q. What if I have dietary restrictions or allergies?

We are able to offer vegetarian and pescetarian tastings on all of our tours!
As all our food and drink tastings are arranged in advance, simply use the prompt to specify your order when you purchase your ticket online. Unfortunately, we are unable to guarantee tastings for other dietary restrictions or allergies at all tasting locations, but our expert tour guides will inform you of the ingredients in each dish.

Q. Can I shop during the tour?

We ask that you please wait to shop until after the tour so that we can stay on schedule and continue with the tour and food tastings in a timely manner. The tours are on a schedule to arrive at each tasting location at prearranged times, therefore, it is important to stay on schedule so the tastings can be enjoyed at its freshest for everyone's enjoyment.

Q. When is the best time to take the tour?

Expert tip: If you are visiting from out of town, we highly recommend taking our Eat.Walk.Talk Bristol Food Tour at the beginning of your visit! This way, you'll quickly gain your bearings in the city, collect recommendations from your local tour guide, and have plenty of time to revisit the wonderful places you discover during the tour!

Q. What about taking children on the tour?

Parents, who know their children best, should assess the situation individually. Since there is a lot of standing and walking, please consider this when deciding whether the tour is appropriate for your child.
Please note that children over the age of 3 will have to purchase a ticket to attend, regardless of whether they will be participating in the tastings.

Q. Is the tour wheelchair and baby stroller accessible?

For the most part the tour route is along normal sidewalks and pathways but these do vary in quality from cobbles to tarmac. There are a few small inclines too. If you are unsure please use the contact form to get a better idea of any issues you may face.

Q. Can I book a private group tour?

Q. Are gift certificates available?

Yes, Gift Certificates are available for our tours! To purchase or learn more about our gift certificates, please visit our Gift Certificates page.

Q. Are there vegetarian options on the tour?

Yes! Simply fill out the prompt to specify your order when you purchase your ticket online, as all food and drink tastings are ordered in advance. We are able to provide options for vegetarians and pescetarians on all of our tours!

Q. Are any beverages served on the tour?

Yes, a few of our tastings encompass some of the great tea, coffee and beers in Bristol, however, I suggest you might bring a small bottle of water to stay hydrated whilst we walk around.

Q. Does the tour end at the same place we meet?

No, our tour terminates in the centre of Bristol and should you need it our Tour Guides will be happy to provide directions after the tour. Return trips can be accomplished by walking or taking a taxi.

Q. Are wine tastings included on the tour?

Not currently.

Q. What types of foods are served on the tour?

We offer a range of food and beverages that represent the multi cultural food scene of Bristol, things you may know but with that independent twist or our very best locally sourced produce.

Q. Do we only walk around and sample food?

Eat.Walk.Talk Bristol Food Tour combines culinary insight, cultural commentary and historical facts into an exciting fun-filled experience. Imagine walking through Bristol eating our local artisans' most celebrated food, learning about the the dish, and how the dishes were prepared, meeting some of the talents behind the scene, and learning all about the city of Bristol.

Q. Are tours offered only in English?

Public tours are offered in English only at this time.

Q. What happens if it rains?

The tours are held rain or shine. In the rare circumstance that a tour is being cancelled due to inclement weather, we will notify customers directly. Please check the weather conditions for your day's event and dress appropriately.

Q. If I am bringing an infant/very young child, do I need to purchase a ticket for them?

If you are bringing a child aged 3 or younger and they will not be participating in the tastings, you do not need to purchase a ticket for them. However, please email us in advance to let us know that you'll have a little one accompanying you! Tickets are required for children over 3 years old regardless of whether they will be participating in tastings.

Q. Are bathrooms available during the tour?

Bathrooms are available in some of our locations and public bathrooms in the centre of Bristol, however we encourage guests to use the bathroom before the tour starts.

Q. Is there parking near the tour meeting point?

Yes, there is paid public car park located near the meeting point.

Q. Is there a minimum number of guests that must be registered before a tour will run?

We require a minimum of 4 guests to run a tour. In the event that we do not meet our minimum numbers, we will notify registered guests the day prior to the tour by email. A full refund will be offered to guests for cancelled tours.

Q. What is the cancellation policy?

Unfortunately, bookings are non refundable currently, however, it may be possible to change your booking date if you need to reschedule or convert to an E certificate.

Q. What is your late policy?

We normally spend a few minutes getting to know each other at the start of the tour but after that we move promptly towards our first tasting, if for some reason you are delayed please contact us so we can direct you to a suitable meeting point if possible.
